Recipient of the Dolores & Renata Withers Memorial Scholarship for 2025

Congratulations to our winner of the 2025 Dolores & Renata Withers Memorial Scholarship, Lauren Goldsworthy.

Lauren Goldsworthy is from St. John’s. She is currently a third-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at Memorial’s Centre for Nursing Studies. Prior to entering this program Lauren completed the Practical Nursing Program at the Centre for Nursing Studies. Her journey into the healthcare field began at the College of the North Atlantic where she completed the Personal Care Attendant Program.

In the fall of 2024 Lauren was introduced to the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador. Through her course of studies, Lauren was part of a small group that completed a project for the Foundation, creating an information guide supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ Community. As a result of this project, Lauren now sees herself continuing to work in the area of eating disorder care when she completes her nursing studies. She plans to pursue additional training in this specialized area.
